The site now boasts 24,000 tonnes of storage, high-tech barley cleaning equipment and environmentally-friendly drying machinery.

The drier will cut carbon dioxide emissions by 650 tonnes a year compared to traditional methods. It should also lead to less haulage movement.

The project is part of The Farexchange Programme, which was created specifically to ensure sustainable and secure food supplies by linking Yorkshire's farmers, food companies and retailers more effectively.
